
Role and Responsibilities
Jason DeVon is Director, Commodity Risk at Mobius Risk Group, where he advises industrial energy consumers, energy procurement teams, and other commodity-intensive organizations on power procurement, market exposure, and commodity risk management.
Jason is the product owner and primary architect of M-Power, Mobius' electricity market intelligence platform. M-Power provides industrial energy consumers, energy procurement managers, and data center operators with market analytics and pricing intelligence to evaluate procurement strategies, benchmark costs, and better understand exposure in competitive power markets.
With more than 25 years of experience across North American energy markets, Jason brings expertise in both physical and financial commodities, as well as a practical understanding of how market risk impacts organizations from the trading desk to executive leadership.
Since joining Mobius in 2016, Jason has helped enhance the firm's commodity risk valuation, reporting, operational controls, client onboarding, and portfolio analytics capabilities while contributing to the evolution of RiskNet, Mobius's System of Intelligence. Earlier in his tenure, he spent three years on the Physical Operations desk, supporting natural gas marketing, contract negotiations, and pipeline operations. His experience across trading, operations, and risk management helps clients understand how market decisions impact financial performance.
Previous Experience
Before joining in 2016, Jason worked as a Financial Trader at Occidental for 16 years. He excelled in identifying and executing natural gas trading opportunities, managing speculative trading books, and handling substantial asset portfolios. Jason's comprehensive financial and physical transactional expertise enables him to effectively communicate with clients across various operational stages, from front to back office.

Community Engagement
Outside of his work at Mobius, Jason serves as a baseball coach for the West University Little League (WULL) Challengers Division, which provides children and young adults with physical and intellectual challenges the opportunity to participate in organized baseball. He is committed to creating an inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, confidence, and community engagement for athletes of all abilities.
