Mobius Risk Group has officially retired 600 metric tons of Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) to fully neutralize our 2024 carbon footprint, continuing our commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices.

Our Carbon Offset Details:

2024 Carbon Footprint: 600 mtCO₂
Offset Project: Katingan Peatland Restoration and Conservation Project, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia
Registry: Verra Carbon Registry

This achievement marks our fourth consecutive year of carbon neutrality. The certificate of VCU retirement and carbon footprint calculation by Rodney Beasley are available to stakeholders upon request.

"Our continued commitment to carbon neutrality reflects our broader mission to help clients navigate both risks and opportunities in an evolving marketplace," said Eric Melvin, CEO at Mobius Risk Group. "By practicing what we preach through our own carbon management program, we gain invaluable insights that enhance our ability to guide clients through their own sustainability journeys."

Strategic Project Selection

The Katingan project was selected for its significant climate benefits and positive impact on biodiversity. By protecting vital peatland ecosystems in Indonesia, the project not only sequesters carbon but also preserves critical habitat for endangered species while supporting local communities.

"The voluntary carbon market continues to evolve rapidly, making transparency and data integrity more crucial than ever," said Rodney Beasley, who prepared the carbon footprint calculation for Mobius. "Our approach combines rigorous accounting with strategic offset selection that aligns with both our environmental goals and our company values."

Leveraging Proprietary Technology

Mobius utilized its own G-Risk™ carbon module, part of its RiskNet platform, to calculate, track, and offset its carbon emissions. The G-Risk™ tool provides organizations with intuitive visualizations and actionable analytics for informed carbon risk management, enabling real-time tracking of carbon footprints and offset valuation based on corporate ESG goals.

Mobius began its carbon neutrality journey in 2021, when we first offset 100% of our Scope 1 and 2 emissions. We've maintained this commitment through 2022, 2023, and now 2024. In 2021, we also released our "7 Steps to Carbon Neutrality" risk management methodology, which we've implemented internally and made available to clients.

Looking Ahead

Our sustainability team has already begun the process of identifying the next tranche of carbon offsets to be added to our inventory in preparation for neutralizing our 2025 footprint in the first half of 2026.

"Our multi-year commitment to carbon neutrality demonstrates that sustainability isn't just a one-time achievement but an ongoing journey," added Melvin. "As leaders in commodity risk management, we're proud to continue setting an example for our industry while providing our clients with the tools and expertise they need to meet their own environmental objectives."
