Roles and Responsibilities
As Manager, Commodity Risk at Mobius Risk Group, Kim Pelc supports the firm's natural gas producer and commercial consumer clients across physical supply, transportation, contract management, and risk management activities. She contributes to Mobius's MidstreamHQ platform, helping producers transform complex settlement and statement data into actionable insights that improve visibility into pricing, charges, operational performance, and market trends.
Kim works directly with clients on natural gas scheduling, contract negotiation and review, statement validation, transportation coordination, and hedging support. She regularly partners with producers, marketers, pipelines, and midstream operators to address supply and delivery challenges, particularly in constrained markets where operational decisions can have significant commercial impacts.
Clients value her responsiveness during critical market events, expertise in natural gas contracts, and practical guidance on hedging and risk management decisions. Kim has guided multiple customers through Operational Flow Orders (OFOs) and winter reliability events, helping them avoid penalties, maintain supply reliability, and identify opportunities to sell excess supply back into the market to offset the financial impact of these events. Drawing on experience across energy markets, trading operations, and physical natural gas supply, she helps clients make informed decisions while navigating complex market conditions.
Previous Experience
Before joining Mobius in 2021, Kim worked for Energy Harbor in a variety of roles, including structuring and pricing, government compliance, and commercial energy operations. During her tenure, she supported the company's entry into the natural gas supply business and helped facilitate expansion into additional regional transmission organizations.
Earlier in her career, Kim held multiple positions at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), where she supported API integrations, managed exchange relations, and led the trading education team responsible for the company's technical analysis software platform. Her experience spans exchange operations, energy supply, market technology, and client-facing commercial support.
